AI4VET: shaping the future of vocational education through AI and cooperation

AI4VET brings together five partners from Poland, Austria, Romania, Croatia and Lithuania with a shared ambition: to transform vocational education and training through Artificial Intelligence and Future Classroom Labs, helping educators and institutions respond to technological change and diverse learning needs.

Coordinated by Sysco Polska from Poland, the partnership includes Acceleras KG from Austria, Asociația Institutul pentru Parteneriat Social Bucovina from Romania, Pučko otvoreno učilište Čakovec from Croatia and Viešoji įstaiga Kauno mokslo ir technologijų parkas from Lithuania. Together, the partners contribute experience in education, training, innovation and inclusion.

At the heart of AI4VET is support for VET educators and trainers. The project aims to strengthen their confidence and competences in using AI tools and innovative teaching methods in everyday practice. This includes exploring how AI can support lesson planning, the creation of learning materials, learner engagement and assessment, while maintaining clear educational objectives and responsible professional judgement.

For learners, the ambition is to create more adaptive, personalised and inclusive learning experiences. People bring different backgrounds, abilities and levels of digital confidence to education. AI4VET aims to help educators respond to this diversity through approaches that make learning more accessible, engaging and relevant to future professional opportunities.

Future Classroom Labs are another central part of the project. These learning environments bring together AI applications, digital tools and inclusive teaching approaches. They provide a framework for exploring how technology, active participation and flexible learning methods can work together in vocational education.

Through training and pilot activities, the project creates opportunities to explore new approaches, test their practical application and gather feedback. This connection with teaching practice is important for understanding how resources can be adapted to different institutional and learner needs.

AI4VET also supports long-term digital transformation in VET institutions. Its ambition is to help embed useful practices, strengthen institutional capacity and encourage cooperation that can continue beyond individual project activities.

By connecting educators, learners, policymakers and industry representatives, AI4VET promotes a shared approach to preparing vocational education for a changing world. Cooperation across these groups can help keep educational innovation connected to learning needs and developments in the labour market.
