Happy International Day for Digital Learning!

On 19 March, we celebrate digital learning and the people who give it purpose: educators, instructional designers, trainers, and everyone committed to lifelong learning.

To all of you, thank you. Your creativity, patience, and pedagogical expertise help turn digital resources into meaningful learning experiences. Behind every carefully designed activity, clear explanation, and encouraging message is someone working to help learners understand, participate, and progress.

Digital tools offer many possibilities for education. They can open access to learning materials, support collaboration across distances, and provide different ways to explore a subject. Your thoughtful choices connect those possibilities with learning goals and the needs of the people you teach.

Whether you are bringing history and society to life through an online discussion, explaining a practical vocational task, or helping an adult learner develop new skills, your guidance gives each activity direction. The questions you ask, the feedback you offer, and the space you create for participation all contribute to learning.

For adults returning to education, that support can be especially valuable. Taking the first step into an unfamiliar online environment may require reassurance, clear instructions, and time to practise. A patient educator can help make that beginning feel manageable and welcoming.

Inclusive digital learning also calls for attention to different circumstances. Learners may have different levels of digital confidence, access to equipment, language skills, or accessibility needs. Designing understandable materials and offering appropriate support helps create opportunities for more people to take part.

Within AI4VET, this commitment guides our ambition to support educators as they explore artificial intelligence and digital tools in vocational education. We want innovation to serve clear pedagogical purposes and respond to everyday teaching and learning needs.

Thank you for the preparation, experimentation, and care that make this possible. Thank you for sharing your experience with colleagues and continuing to learn alongside your students.

On this International Day for Digital Learning, we celebrate your contribution to accessible, inclusive, and meaningful education — online, in the classroom, and throughout life.
